The journey is part of the adventure...

For many their holiday starts as they board the ferry in Oban then navigate the sound of Mull – whether the sun is shining on impossibly blue seas scattered with strangely shaped islands or Duart castle looms out of the swirling mist – the magic begins here.

Mull is the second largest island of the Inner Hebrides, and lies off the west coast of Scotland. Take a spectacular drive to the ferryport of Oban, allowing  about two and a half hours from Glasgow by car. The ferry takes 45minutes.

There are two other ferries to Mull, both involving another short ferry crossing at Corran, near Fort William and a drive through wild but stunning scenery.

  • Loch Aline – Fishnish (Ferry timetables - winter/summer)
  • Kilchoan – Tobermory (Ferry timetables - winter/summer)

Be warned it is avisable to book on the Oban ferry if travelling by car.
